I wanted to work with a coach because I felt as if I needed to develop my confidence as a leader. Being new to a leadership role, I was well outside of my comfort zone when it came to having difficult conversations with colleagues as a manager and was apprehensive about being seen to be either too autocratic, or “lazy” when delegating.
Carla provided me with the tools to reframe a lot of the way I’d been thinking, and also to recognise that a lot of what I was already doing was more than OK.
As a woman, I wanted to work with a woman as I know women face particular challenges in leadership roles, and Carla helped me see that I didn’t have to react to everything immediately, that I could take time to strategise, and that I could be a better leader if I didn’t feel I had to be involved on every level all the time.
Carla is very warm and engaging – she put me at ease immediately and was able to provide honest, constructive feedback without ever being in the least bit judgmental. She’s full of insight and wisdom as well as being very funny – and I’d have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone.
